A Moment in Silence
We sit for a moment in silence,
And I watch you and hold your hand.
For a moment I don’t know if you are thinking about today’s pain, or the pain that was,
but it doesn’t matter which and a silent tear runs down your cheek.
Don’t forget that you are a hero. You fight a battle everyday that no one is aware of.
You are a hero, that provides for children, because it is the right thing to do.
In fact it is the only course of action you can imagine.
You have taken great strides, when I met you you were afraid to speak to me,
Afraid to talk on the phone.
And you don’t see it, but so much has changed, and you make me proud.
