Well Worth the Price

You settle in for the night,
And I lean in to kiss you,
You offer your cheek.
“I don’t want you to catch my cold”.
I gingerly give you a peck, but inside I am thinking.
A cold?
I’ve gone to work when I really should not have.
I’ve stayed awake nights doing mountains of laundry.
Dishes, and making the kids lunches…..
And a cold? A cold seems like nothing to surmount.
Well worth the price of one of your kisses.
Well worth the price.
